We currently use the Pfizer-Pharmacia Tecnis CeeOn 9001.

This lens implant is a relatively new design. Most lens implants have a design that has a smooth curvature of the surface that allows rays of light to focused in a way that reduces the ability to recognize contrasting objects. Pharmacia-Pfizer has a method of doing this called anterior prolate surface modification. The Technis lens allows an increase in contrast sensitivity. This translates into the ability to see better at night or in situations where the contrast is reduced such as rain, fog, or mist. We have been using this lens implant to replace cataractous human lenses for several years. We and our patients have been very satisfied with the performance of this lens implant. We feel that the benefits of this lens outweigh the benefits of multifocal lens implants, most of which reduce contrast sensitivity.
